Each year two new Leadership Team Members are presented to the church for approval at our Annual Fellowship Meeting. This year the meeting will be on March 6th and will be held as normal at approximately 10:10 am between Sunday School and the Worship time. In addition to the morning meeting, there will be an evening potluck fellowship and prayer time. We will provide more information about the potluck in the next couple of weeks.
The two persons for election this year are Mike Sandman and Mark Whitt. Note the following information for each of these men.
Mike Sandman is a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, having joined along with his father, mother and brother, Jim and Kim Sandman and Tim Sandman, in March of 2000. Mike grew up through the ministries of Calvary and was a faithful participant of our youth and college ministries serving also as a praise band member in each. After college, he married Chelsey who joined him at Calvary. They are the parents of Miles Sandman, a four month old boy. Mike and Chelsey are deeply involved in the music ministry of Calvary, Mike as bass player in the praise band, as well both of them serving as praise team and choir vocalists. They are involved in the King Connect Group. Mike currently works for Huskey Building Materials as an Outside Sales representative.
Mark Whitt and his family moved to Murfreesboro from Murray, Kentucky, where Mark has served as the Murray State Baptist Collegiate Minister for the last fourteen years. Mark, his wife Lisa, and their children Elizabeth and Tyler joined Calvary in February of 2014. Mark currently is the Collegiate/Young Adult Ministry Specialist and National
Collegiate Ministry Leader for Lifeway Christian Resources, which is the publishing and consulting arm of the Southern Baptist Convention. He is highly sought as a speaker at College Conferences and spends a great deal of time traveling to provide support and consultation for Southern Baptist Churches all over the nation.
